Turning Point

Way Finders’ Turning Point is a permanent supportive housing program that provides 9 young parents (pregnant or parenting), ages 18-24 who are both homeless and either recovering from a diagnosed substance abuse problem or diagnosed with a mental health disability, with their own apartment in a building in Holyoke, MA.

Participants must be referred into this program. The program employs case managers who provide wrap- around services to participants while they are in the program. These services include service planning, provider coordination, referrals, academic support, career planning, housing support and search, and a myriad of workshops.

Turning Point operates in a coordinated effort with the Holyoke Housing Authority providing a subsidy for the apartment while the participant is in the program. Way Finders Property management maintains the building and handles rent payments and annual re-certifications. Turning Point staff provides the programming component with an on-site office and community room. Participants pay 30% of their income as well as their own utilities.
